We love a man who loves his family. Even if it takes a little while to find that family. Or to discover that he has what it takes to love and be loved by them.

There's something sexy about that man who can hold his newborn with such love in his face that you know he is going to be the best father he can be. Or the man who looks at his wife with adoration and doesn't care if the entire world knows that he loves this woman to distraction. Yes, that man is definitely a hero worth appreciating.

We Divas were talking and there are so many men like that in Judith's books, but one who stood out to us was the incomparable Cole Harrison from Remember When. Here is a man who, even though he married Diana initially as a business deal, loved and loved unconditionally the woman in his arms, her family and the family they would be making together. He loved so much, he was willing to let it all go to save them from further scandal. Silly on his part, but when we look at it from his perspective, the ultimate sacrifice of love.

So here's to Cole Harrison, a non-traditional family man who loves and loves well. And to all the other amazing family men out there!

Let's appreciate them all, starting with Cole. What makes him a sexy family man? Who else tops your list and why?

Matt Farrell is the first to come to my mind when I think family man. (Sorry, Noah, hon - I still love you best, though!)

Matt never talked about how much he loved his family, he showed us. He worked several jobs to pay off his mom's medical bills while in school. He understood and forgave his father for his alcoholism. He protected and took care of his sister. He didn't hesitate to marry Meredith when he realized she was carrying his baby and he nearly went insane when he thought she'd aborted their baby. Gosh! I really love this man...

I do love Cole. He's always in my top 5 (or 6) JM heroes, but obviously I haven't read RW in a long time, because I don't remember some of those details.

I do have to agree with Queenie though. I've always loved the scene where Meredith goes to Matt after she realize she's pregnant and he immediately goes, "You're pregnant" and accepts responsibility and wants to take care of her and the baby and all he's willing to do for them. I love that went to the hospital. I can't believe he can even be civil to Phillip after what he put them through. Love, love, love Matt. *sigh*

I really like the Quinn boys from Nora Roberts' Chesapeake Bay trilogy, especially Ethan Quinn. Through out the series he has this great way with people and nurturing and through out his book you know he wants a family of his own even if he thinks he doesn't deserve one.

I'm going to go with Sebastian Griffith from Suzanne Enoch's Sin series.

I vote for this guy:

Not a romance novel hero....but obviously a die-hard Phillies fan who loves his daughter and has a great sense of humor. I just can't get enough of this clip!

Awwww! I loved that video, Lizzie, and you're right. He's a sweetheart! In an interview, he'd said his daughter just did what she always does when they play catch. Toss the ball. LOL!

I'm glad the Phillies took care of him. They gave him a ball that night, and later a ball signed by the outfielder whose foul ball he'd caught, and personalized jerseys.

Better than the girl (and her family) who sued the Phillies over the homerun ball. It was like Ryan Howard's (maybe some other Philly) 200th homerun and they sued to have the ball versus all the free stuff they could have had. Ugh.

My favorite part of that story is that the dad was clearly pained but he had to congratulate his daughter on such a good throw.

Sorry, ladies, in real life I like a family man, but in my novels, I like a bad boy with a secret heart of gold wrapped in a bada** cover.
