What is it about a bad boy that draws us in? Why does his devil-may-care attitude send shivers up our spine and put an extra sway in our step? They can tempt us with a come hither flip of their head or have us begging for their attention with their perfect sneer. And make us believe that love can truly conquer all and save our bad boy from himself. Oh, the world loves a bad boy.

He could be a leather wearing, motorcycle riding, in trouble with the law since the day he was born bad boy. Or maybe he's a chip on his shoulder, trying to outrun a devastating childhood, "I'm bad because I don't want anyone to get close to me" bad boy. He could even be a man who flips the bird at convention and discovers that a life of crime almost fills that hole in his soul - almost. That's the great thing about a bad boy, there's more than enough to go around.

So, who is your favorite bad boy? Whose dark looks, sexy swagger and reckless attitude beckon you? The Discussion Divas want to know.

Dan Calebow! It should turn me off to hear him speeding through the streets of Chicago without a care, but I would love to be right there with him. Love that bad boy!

Bad, bad boy equal rake to me
so I'll say Dominic Alastair from Devil's Cub by GH
and St. Aubyn from London's Perfect Scoundrel by SE.
What I really love about bad boys/rakes is that the worse they are the harder they fall.

Any one of the hero's from Anne Stuarts Ice series. She writes such a dark hero, that you can't help but end up loving. I don't know who would be my favorite though, they are all so bad and dark, but you can't help but love them. I would have to go with the bad boy from the first book in the series, Bastien Toussaint from Black Ice.

SEP has some great bad boys too. I just read, What I Did For Love by her, and Bram Shepard was certainly portrayed himself as a bad boy, I really ended up liking him, and wasn't sure I would at first.

I also loved Sebastian from LK's Devil in Winter! I just love his story, and how he redeemed himself.

I absolutely LOVE Bad Boys!!!

One of my favorites is Dageus MacKeltar. Or maybe Adam Black ~ both of Karen Marie Moning's writings.

I agree with Cin...Dan Calebow is one of my favorite bad boys of all time. What a magnificent hottie!

Also, Zsadist from the BDB. Love, love, love him and his story!

My favorite bad boy ever is Z from the BDB. He is the ultimate bad boy. When we first met him, he wasn't a bad boy. He was evil and, as his twin said, broken. By the second book, I thought he was slightly less evil. By the third book, his own, he had taken the cake as best bad boy EVER. And just like someone else said, the badder they are, the harder they fall. He fell so hard for Bella that I cried my eyes out at the beauty of their love (I know, I know), and now he's a total family man and doting husband....but he will kick anyone's ass and not think twice about it.

Oh, I had to add. My favorite bad boy from TV is Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Sigh. He learned to love and be good, despite not having a soul, all because of his love for Buffy. SIIIIIIGH.

I'm in total agreement with Zsadist, Dageus and Adam Black.

I'll add to my personal favorites of bad boys:

Sebastian St. Vincent from A Devil in Winter by Lisa Kleypas

Michael Valente by JM. I thought this guy was bad news for the first half of his book. I had a hard time reconcilling this when you find that he had been in love with the heroine for years. The second time I read the book I fell in love with him.
I like reading about this kind of hero because you know they must have an achilles heel and it's an adventure discovering what it is.

Johnny Harris from Karen Robards' One Summer was the first contemporary bad boy I fell in love with as an adult. He's got a past, he's worse than a pariah in his home town. He's hard and jaded but when he reconnects with a former teacher (who isn't that much older than he is), he finds someone who sees past the bad boy to the man beneath.

I also love Johnny from Wendy Rosnau's The Long Hot Summer and Lucky Doucet from Tami Hoag's Lucky's Lady. These men scream bad boy to me and I think the Louisiana atmosphere in which both stories are told add to the bad boy mystic. At least for me.
